Dr. Tamara Blanton DnP, APRN, FNP-C

Dr. Tamara Blanton, DNP, FNP-C, was born with a calling to care for others not just medically, but emotionally, physically, and spiritually. She began her journey right here in the local community, earning her nursing degree from Lone Star College, then advancing her education with a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Texas.

Her career has spanned nearly every facet of patient care. From serving as a hospice nurse, where compassion is essential, to assisting in surgery, treating chronic pain, practicing family medicine, and utilizing regenerative medicine to support healing. Dr. Blanton has cared for patients across every stage of life. Her experience is broad, but her approach is always deeply personal.

Alongside her clinical work, she also serves as a Professor of Nursing, mentoring and teaching the next generation of nurses. She believes strongly in giving back to the profession that shaped her, and in helping future nurses bring empathy, knowledge, and passion to the bedside and beyond.

The clinic was born from a desire to create something different—a place where people are not rushed or reduced to a number but truly seen. A place where care is shaped around the individual’s history, values, and goals. Because people do not fit in boxes, neither should their healthcare.

At Hometown Healing Family Medicine, we are here to walk beside you, understand your story, and support your health with respect, compassion, and evidence-based care. We are proud to serve our community and empower our patients to live fully, independently, and on their own terms.
